Asthma
is a chronic inflammatory disease of the airways, causing attacks of
Wheezing, chest tightness, shortness of breath and cough.
In asthma the airways are inflamed. This leads to swelling of the walls and makes them react more to various stimuli. When you react, the muscles around them constrict, narrow bronchi and the lungs amounted to less air. Swelling
of the wall, muscle contraction, and increased production of secretions
leads to a narrowing of the airways and development of asthma,
characterized by simptmite Wheezing, chest tightness, shortness of
breath and cough.
In
most patients with bronchial asthma asthma attacks alternating with
asymptomatic periods of patients suffering from prolonged shortness of
breath with periods of further strengthening of breath, and in others
the cough is the main symptom.
Asthma
attacks lasting from minutes to days and can be life-threatening in
severe and persistent obstruction (asthma status), which is important
because early treatment of symptoms in order to prevent their
deterioration.
Forecast
Asthma can not be cured. Even in Asymptomatic periods, you still carry the disease, which may be exacerbated at any time.
However,
with today's knowledge and medicines, most patients with asthma can
control the disease and to lead a normal active life.
