Medicine (from Latin medicus - "Healer") is the science of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases and injuries. It
is both a science of human body systems, diseases and treatments,
application of that knowledge, and yet the availability of medicines and
technologies. The
study of diversity, structure and lifestyle of the biology of organisms
gives rise to special and applied branches as medicine.
The
practice of medical care is shared between professional groups of
doctors and other professionals such as nurses and pharmacists.
Medicine
is usually seen as many different poddistsiplini as pediatrics,
gynecology, neurology, etc., dealing with separate and specific body
systems, diseases or areas of health. Dentistry
(Dentistry before 2007) and dentists are sciences - units of medicine,
who study the condition, disease and treatment of dental and oral
cavity. In other countries Dentistry is taught in a separate specialty.
Veterinary medicine deals and specializes in animal health.
