Take medications only with water from the tap!
German
experts warn that medications should be taken with tap water as
different types of drinks - milk, mineral water, juice, beer or wine,
may change their effect.
Calcium in milk is associated with active ingredients and may prevent them from falling into the blood. This reduces the effectiveness of drugs, such preparations against osteoporosis and many antibiotics. Even a drop of milk in coffee is sufficient to affect the action of the tablets.
Juice and mineral water fortified with calcium, also have an effect. If between drug intake and calcium intake have passed one or two hours, then there will be no negative impact.
Grapefruit juice can do to strengthen both the effect of the drug and its side effects. It inhibits the enzymes in the body responsible for the breakdown of many drugs, "says pharmacists. Most often grapefruit juice affect medicines for high blood pressure, lipid metabolic disorders and other chronic diseases.
Orange and apple juice do not appear to influence the effectiveness of medicines. Alcohol is strictly prohibited even as spirits also interact with certain active ingredients.
