The influence of blood group on health
Can blood group to determine the risk of cancer, infertility and gastric ulcers as well as diseases such as cholera and malaria?

For many years scientists rejected the idea of any other medical significance of blood group, except for blood transfusions. They do not pay attention and respect of the stars diet according to blood group, according to which type of blood determines the body's reaction to certain foods. Recently, however, more studies reveal the ways in which blood group affects the susceptibility to some deadly diseases.

The latest survey shows that people with blood type O are less at risk of infarction. Scientists from the University of Pennsylvania have found that depending on exploring 20000 people. They found that most people who carry a gene called Adamts7, have a significantly increased risk of heart attack, but in people with blood group O, which also have this gene, no such risk. The research team points out that this discovery could lead to developing new therapies for risk of heart attack. For example, drugs that mimic the beneficial effect of the gene for blood group zero.

Blood group is determined by genes inherited from parents. Millennial evolution has split the blood of 4 groups: A, B, AB and O. The groups differ in their antigen / protective immune systems / surface of red blood cells. Each blood group has evolved into the development of defenses against deadly diseases. Each of them has its weak spot. People with zero group are less likely to die due to malaria than other groups. But they are more prone to cholera and stomach ulcers caused by viruses and bacteria.

For years the study of the relationship between blood groups and disease is discredited because of the Nazis. During the 30-year German "professor of racial science" Oto Rehe claimed that all pure Aryans have zero blood group. According to him, the predominant blood group of enemies was a group B. In this way he identified the "lower" races that were persecuted during the rise of Hitler.

Although from a scientific point of view these allegations are absurd, in Japan there is still discrimination based on blood groups. In the 20 years of last century Japanese scientists contended that blood groups create different personalities. That argument proved to such an extent that during World War II imperial army battle groups formed according to blood group.

The idea raised in the 70's, when Japanese bestsellers spread the idea that people with blood group A are sensitive, but troubled, with Group C - funny, but concentrated, with zero group - responsive, but tenacious, with a group AB - artistic and unpredictable. This theory has its dark side. Bura-hara (classification by blood group) is a common practice in Japan. Appointments company bosses often respect the blood group of candidates. Children in some nurseries are also grouped by blood groups. Dating agencies provide blood compatibility tests on blood groups.

Despite many misconceptions, there is strong scientific evidence that blood group may be the secret to combating the deadly disease.

In the 50 years of last century studies in 4 London hospitals found that the risk of developing stomach cancer is much higher for people with blood group A, than for those with group O, although people with zero group are higher risk of peptic ulcer.

This year, these findings were confirmed by Swedish scientists from Karolinska Institute, who for 35 years studied one million people. They argue that people with blood group A are more susceptible to smoking, drinking alcohol and NSAIDs, which are risk factors for stomach cancer. People with zero group are more vulnerable to the bacterium Helicobacter pylori, which causes peptic ulcers.

Last year, American scientists found that blood group of women can affect their chances of becoming pregnant. Examination of over 560 women treated by infertility, showed that those with zero group had 2 times fewer eggs that were in poor, which could affect the chances of conception. The study found women from blood group A are more protected by reducing the number of eggs over time. According to American scientists, the precise reasons for the relationship between blood group and ovarian reserve are not clearly understood.

Blood group is associated with other reproductive problems. Scientists at Harvard University found that women with group B or AB are at increased risk of developing ovarian cancer. There are also suspicions that the blood group AB can double or even triple the risk of preeclampsia - a life-threatening condition in which a sharp increase in blood pressure. This finding may help identify women at highest risk.

Another study found that people with blood groups AB and B are much higher risk of pancreatic cancer. Danish scientists even argue that men with a zero blood group are more prone to weight gain and obesity.

With so much scientific data we keep asking ourselves why not tell us about the health risks associated with blood group. Apparently the public still does not care enough many different factors that increase or reduce health risks. They focus on traditional things - diet, smoking, and other movements, but do not realize that unhealthy habits may have been triggered by something much larger.

Diet according to blood group is gaining momentum and becoming more popular. It can affect people's interest in the tiny blood cells that play a much larger role than we thought. According to that diet, people with group A must eat vegetarian food, while those with zero group - meat, dairy products and cereals.

Dietitians do not support this diet, since the exclusion of entire food groups is not useful. This diet leads to a significant shortage of substances in the body, such as calcium.
